Abstract: Blended learning integrating innovative use of technologies and face-to-face education has become an important education innovation in the modern society. The use of MOOCs to enhance the access and the learning experiences of learners has also demonstrated its tremendous advantages and challenges to addressing the needs of learners and the needs of education providers. The core research areas include quality assurance of blended learning and MOOCs, inclusive and innovative learning design, online learning communities, success factors of learners, social inclusion and integration, sustainable development of blended learning and MOOCs, the use of learning analytics of online courses, university strategies for blended learning and MOOCs. Researchers in the area of education, pedagogy, innovations, educational technologies, professional development, learning design, computer-assisted learning, and social integration (& related fields) are welcome to engage in research in this domain. The research will take place at an international level with the opportunities to collaborate with researchers from different countries and various HEIs and institutions involved in blended learning and MOOCs. About the research Group
Online and Blended Learning Competence Center
The Online and Blended Learning Competence Center is an international joint research group established at VUB. OBLC group is collaboratively building the Online and Blended Learning Competence Center as a knowledge and transfer center to offer expertise and advice for teachers and the society regarding digitalization of education and the guidelines for designing online and blended learning. OBLC group has led a few OBL projects and MOOC projects.
