Project description
The Cosmopolis Centre for Urban Research is a research group within the Department of Geography of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and is dedicated to research and teaching in interdisciplinary urban studies, with particular strengths in geography, spatial planning and urban design. Committed to pursuing both academic and practice relevant research, Cosmopolis actively engages policy makers, governments, citizen networks and other urban partners to transform knowledge into action.
Founded in 2000, Cosmopolis continuously grown in size and is now an established centre of urban research situated in the heart of Europe with more than 40 researchers, ranging from professors to postdocs and PhD students. Members of Cosmopolis are also founding members of key urban educational and research initiatives in Brussels. On the level of research, this primarily includes the Brussels Centre for Urban Studies, a university-wide network bringing together scholars doing research on ‘the urban’.
We welcome proposals for Marie Sklodowska Curie-Individual Fellowships from motivated candidates interested in engaging with this dynamic and interdisciplinary academic environment.
